Dokuz Eylül University Technopark – DEPARK

Dokuz Eylül University Technopark – DEPARK, one of the technology development zones of strategic importance for the innovation ecosystem of İzmir and the Aegean Region, was established in 2013 as Turkey’s first specialized health technopark. Aiming to foster innovative projects and collaborations in various fields of health, software, and design, DEPARK operates across two campuses within Dokuz Eylül University (DEU).

DEPARK offers facilities to over 150 R&D companies and over 2,000 R&D professionals. This is achieved through the Alfa and Beta Buildings on the DEU Central Campus, the Zeytin Building and Nar Complex at the Health and Arts Campus, and the Defne Building, which was designated as a TGB-3 area in 2023. These companies operate across diverse sectors, including software, healthcare, medical technologies, computer and communication, engineering and architecture, electronics, machinery and equipment manufacturing, textiles, energy, food, and agriculture.

In line with its growth objectives, DEPARK continues to support the commercialization of business ideas and sustainable development, while persistently advancing its strategies for infrastructure development and capacity building. In addition to the Alfa and Beta Buildings on the Central Campus, the construction of the Gama Building is also planned, aiming to host more entrepreneurs and technology companies.

Striving to bring its achievements to the international stage, DEPARK shapes its strategies accordingly; alongside continuous development, it also provides guidance to partner technology development zones (TDZs) and technology transfer offices (TTOs), offering its knowledge and experience for the benefit of the broader ecosystem.

Our companies, operating in over 40 sectors and nearly 20 thematic clusters, bring innovation, expertise, and dynamism to the DEPARK ecosystem. Thanks to this strong structure, annual R&D revenues exceed 1.25 billion TL, making valuable contributions to regional development and the national economy.

Through the successful completion of more than 1,100 R&D projects to date, our companies have delivered nearly 2,000 innovative products to end-users — not only producing technology but also serving as a driving force for sustainable social development.

At DEPARK, we continue to provide our companies with opportunities for strategic collaborations, end-to-end services, and the development of high value-added projects, with the aim of carrying these achievements even further.
